Pachelbel’s Canon is one of the best-known and most beloved works of classical music. Johann Pachelbel likely composed his famous Canon in D major toward the end of the 17th century. Particularly fascinating is the recurring harmonic progression over which the melodies gradually unfold.

It is precisely this clear structure that makes the piece so wonderful for the piano. The harmonies repeat themselves, while the music continues to flow, becoming increasingly richer and more animated.

I arranged this piece in such a way that the typical character of the canon is preserved, but the piece is significantly easier to play. The accompaniment is kept simple, the notation is easy to read, and I have avoided unnecessarily difficult fingerings.

That way, you can focus more on the beautiful flow of the music—and that’s exactly what makes Pachelbel’s Canon so special to me to this day.

A wonderful opportunity to discover one of the great classical works, even if you have little experience playing the piano.
