The add-on – Classics.
This volume is a little journey back to my musical roots.To the melodies I grew up with – to the sounds that have shaped, accompanied and inspired me.
Here you will find my favorite classical works, in my own arrangements, created with much love and respect for the originals.
It begins with the powerful “Ode to Joy” by Beethoven – a piece that always gives courage and hope.
This is followed by “Für Elise”, perhaps the most famous piano piece of all – here in a new, clear notation that invites you to discover it with a fresh perspective.Then it continues with my version of “Die Moldau” by Smetana – music that flows like a living stream, carrying landscapes and moods with it.And with the “Adagio” by Bach/Marcello, a quiet beauty returns – that special calm that only baroque music can convey so deeply.
I have recorded several of Mozart’s favorite pieces: the second movement of one of his most beautiful sonatas – so simple, so honest, so human -, the “Laudate Dominum”, which sounds like a quiet prayer to me, and finally the “Mozart Fantasy”, in which melancholy and light meet in a wonderful way.
Of course, Erik Satie’s “Gymnopédie No. 1” should not be missing at the end – music like a breath, soft and timeless.
Handel’s “Passacaglia” also carries a sublime calm, and Chopin’s famous “Nocturne” closes this volume in the same way that night ends the day – gently, thoughtfully, full of feeling.
I hope that when you play these pieces you will immerse yourself in their world – that you will feel why this music has survived for centuries:
because it touches something in us that remains unchanged – longing, comfort, hope and joy.
May this volume remind you of what music is really about: feeling, listening, breathing – and enjoying the moment.
