Ludwig’s famous piece finally here again

It was in the archive for a long time, but now it is available here again in all versions.

The most interesting version is certainly the new 2025 version which now contains the simplified notation

Für Elise is one of Ludwig van Beethoven’s best-known piano pieces. The piece, whose full title is Bagatelle in A minor WoO 59, was composed on April 27, 1810, but was not published until 1867, long after Beethoven’s death.

Origin and significance

Beethoven dedicated the piece to an unknown “Elise”. Musicologists suspect that it was dedicated to Therese Malfatti, a pupil and possibly also a childhood sweetheart of Beethoven.

An alternative theory is that the name “Elise” goes back to an incorrect transcription and should actually be “Therese”.

Musical features

The piece begins with the famous, delicate melody in A minor, which is often played by beginners on the piano. This is followed by a lively middle section in F major before the main melody returns.

Despite its apparent simplicity, Für Elise contains some challenging passages and harmonic surprises.

You will see that with my music you have a whole orchestra under your hands that can play very simple melodies as well as big arrangements. The piano will show you the way.
Join me on this journey and I would be delighted if I could give you suggestions for your own piano playing.

That’s cool

That’s very nice to hear! If a song is simple enough that even beginners can play it, then it can be played by many people and reach an even wider target group.

It is a special talent to write a song that is not only emotionally moving, but also accessible to many people.

I hope that my piano songs will bring joy to many people and inspire them to make music themselves.
